Adult Developmental Homes (ADH)

Adult Developmental Home providers are in high demand and a critical part of a specialized support model.  They provide support and guidance to adults with developmental disabilities.  The individuals living in Developmental Homes may have a wide range of disabilities, medical conditions and/or behavioral issues.

Adult Developmental Home providers receive tax free compensation while positively impacting the lives of others.

 

Adult Developmental Home providers open their homes and hearts in assisting individuals with disabilities in areas such as:

  • Developing and fostering independent living skills

  • Supporting full inclusion into their communities

  • Actively participating in the development of the Individual Service Plan

  • Creating an environment that promotes and encourages ongoing learning as well as personal growth

  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships

  • Assist in developing vocational skills to obtain competitive employment

  • Provide opportunities for individuals to interact socially with family, friends and community members

  • Provide training and supervision for the individual to increase or maintain self-help skills

 

These adults are placed by the Arizona Department of Economic Security’s Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) along with family involvement to ensure the individual receives the specialized care they require.  The model is specifically designed for adults, ages 18 and older that has one of the following developmental disabilities:

  • Intellectual Disability

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Autism

  • Epilepsy

 

Tucson Residence Foundation Licensing Specialists assist families in applying for and maintaining a License to care for adults with developmental disabilities in their homes.

Licensing Requirements:

  • At Least 21 years of age

  • Space in your home

  • Fingerprint Clearance

  • Pass Background Check

  • Complete Required Trainings

  • Meet Income Requirements

  • Reliable Transportation

  • Pass State Inspection

  • Meet the needs of Individual being placed in home

  • Individual Support Plans

  • Incident Reporting

  • Behavior Management

  • Prevention & Support

  • Article 9

  • Medication Administration
